I Think I Have A New Addiction

'ROCK ON' in those Sponge Bob pants

Well, for Christmas my parents got our family Guitar Hero World Tour. I mean I have played this game a few times at some of my friend's homes in Vegas, but little did I know how ADDICTED you can become when it is your own game! I think that I have played that game for over 20 hours in the past 3 days! I know pretty pathetic huh! But since I am unemployed at the moment, maybe my new job will be to become a professional guitarist or even a drummer! hahaha! Even though you now know that I am addicted to this amazing game! I have to say that even my parents are playing it almost as often as I am! The other night we even had a band-off! Where we had our band that we created and we competed against my parents along with my aunts and uncles! it was great! we ended up losing, but I honestly have no idea how! Our whole band was on medium while the parents were all on easy! Our percentages were higher than there's but for some reason we decided to let the amount of cash earned decide who won and they got more cash! Being the competitive person that I am I was furious along with confused! And yes I did put up a fight! :D Although I stayed calm and collected! But I hate losing and I myself got a 98% accuracy! So I felt as though I could back up my words with my amazing performance!
Well, when it comes to actually playing the game I feel as though my strongest instrument is the guitar! I can rock the house on that thing! Following the guitar is definitley the bass because it is practically the same technique! Next comes the drum where I have had much improvement in the past few days! I never knew being a drummer was so gosh darn difficult! Last on the list is definitely the vocals! I happen to have one of the worst voices! One of my roommates even flat out laughed at my during church while I was attempting to sing a hymn. Yeah that should sum up how horrible my vocal chords really are! But that is a quick run down of my instrumental abilities and how each one ranks in my book!
Well, here are some pictrues of my family rocking out on Christmas day right after we opened it! We didn't wait long from when we opened it to when we set it up and started playing! So around 11 o'clock on Christmas Day is the time when I became addicted to the great game

'Guitar Hero World Tour'

Also, as a family we were not blessed with great voices! We sing and sing but it doesn't sound good! Therefore the vocals level for our family stays on EASY! Oh and I am the worst one in the family! Everyone laughs when I attempt to sing! But my motto is...

'sing as loud as you can and maybe it will end up sounding half way decent'

My Mom playing the Guitar with Nate as her groupie!
Rach showing my mom how its done! She has mastered how to look cute while playing!

Lets just hope that we don't end up like this guy!

I mean he has a 6 pack, but everything else is quite a scary site! Although I would love a pair of leather pants to play in! OK fine confession.....this guy is my idol and I want to be just like him!

Im sick of it!

Well, tonight I got a little excited to finally have something fun to do. I got invited to a game night at a girl's house who is in my singles ward here in California. I don't know why but going into it I assumed I would have fun. Although once I got there I realized why I absolutely hate those things! They end up being a bunch of people hanging out and half the time you are talking to people who truly don't care about you. There are rarely any cute guys worth getting to know and after the whole thing is over you feel like the night was a complete waste! So yeah this was my eventful Sunday night that I for some reason had thought was going to be different than every other game night that I have attended here in California.
My whole time there consisted of playing games on some girls I-phone due to the fact that I really didn't know half the people there and didn't care to try to get to know them. Well, the games were fun, but I was completely anti-social cause I am horrible at doing 2 things let alone 3 or 4 things at the same time. (talking to someone and playing definitely counts as 2 things!). Also we played this game where people sit on other people's laps while closing there eyes and ask them to make a sound. Well, most of the people there made it dirty and I just don't think that Jr. High comments are funny anymore! So yeah once again a game night was a complete waste of my Sunday night! So next time I am about to go someone shake me and tell me that I won't have fun and that I should stay at home and make cookies cause I will then at least have some comfort food!

I leave and Vegas freezes over!

So... I head home to warm and sunny California on Sunday night to begin my travels here. Then to make me even more sad about leaving everyone in Vegas it decides to snow! I have to say that I am quite furious with the weather! I was in Vegas for a whole week with no set plans before I came home to California and then the day after I leave snow begins to fall on the ground. Since I am from California and then have gone to school in Vegas, I do not have much experience with snow. Therefore it fascinates me! I love it! I mean I really love it! I was sooo bummed that Vegas gets a ton (well compared to the usual yearly snow fall) of snow and I am not even there to enjoy it and built a snowman! Due to my despair and depression I decided to go to the mountains and go sledding with my family.

Our adventure began when I ditched my grandma while having breakfast with her to head up to the snow! Yeah that is right I completely ditched her! Left her home while I went out and had some fun!

We headed on up to Lake Arrowhead to find some snow! We get half way up the mountain and some cop tells us that even though we have 4 wheel drive and snow tires on our car we cannot proceed without chains! Therefore this mad me very irritated and we had to head back down the mountain in search of some chains! After finding out that chains cost a lot of mula (aka $) we decided to just go up the mountain even if the guy tried stopping us! So we did! We are such rebels! So we finally made it to the snow! My little brother was dying to get out and touch it! It was his first time in deep snow (aka about 3 feet). We got all bundled up...

Rachel all ready for some snow! Looking HOTT!

Off to the hills/ roads we go!! We just used the roads in a residential area to sled down! Although in their defense they were great and we enjoyed them a ton!!! Only a few wipeouts, but luckily no injuries! Especially since Brett and Nate did some extreme hills and Rachel and Nate almost got ran over by a car! Yeah the lady honked but never stopped! 'Can't lose traction'

Rach and Brett after a snow fight! Isn't he precious!

Rach and I racing... she supposedly won until she stopped sledding and I kept going and ran over her head! BUAHAHAHAHAHA!

CAN WE SAY COLLISION!! Rach is lucky to be in one piece!

Rach eating some snow that Nate shoved in her face! What is a boyfriend for!

Alli and I had quite a run! and as you can see on my face we didnt have much control!

Alli and I with our sled that we searched all over for! Although it was definitely worth the search!
Well, just cause the OC doesnt get snow...... I can still head to the mountains and be in the snow in about an hour! Man I love California! Where else do you get the luxury of the beach one way and the mountains the other all within an hour or so? Don't be hating!

Back, back, to Cali Cali

Well, this is my first post! I am kind of excited to start a blog! My roommate Maren has been writing a blog for quite some time and I have truly enjoyed reading them. Although I do not think that I will be able to keep up with her whit and humor, but I will try and at least make my blog interesting! Well, now that I have sadly moved away from her and I will not be experiencing most of the events that she blogs about I have decided to blog about my new life in the good old OC.
So I have gone to school in Las Vegas for the past 4 and a half years. I just graduated from UNLV and now I have moved back to California to start off my life as a college graduate. I was extremely sad to leave my Best Friend Ever (Maren) and all of my friends! But I am excited to be around my family again. Change is always good right? We will just have to see what life has in store for me as a single gal in Orange County, California!

Although how can you resist this? Why not live in California!
(see Maren... hurry and move here! the beach is calling you!)
